Default cutout help

I have QTP LT's and catted Y with SLP dual/dual - I know it would be a PITA to run dual cutouts before the cats but...is it worth it to run a single cutout after the Y on the I pipe? I know it will be louder (which is good) but will it be worth all the trouble power wise?

That setup is probably quiet as hell. I think even with the ORY that dual/dual muffler is too quiet. Spend the few dollars to get a cutout and have it installed. Total, mine was $60. It was the best $60 I ever spent, though I have stock mans. and cats. Dont bother with two, just weld one in the I-pipe before the axle. There is a "special spot" for it just behind and under the pass. seat.

Edit: I realize you are looking for more power. The cutout wont get you much, the dual/dual is a pretty good flowing muffler. I would install it just for the sound.

How good does a cut out sound on stock manifolds and cats? How much hp gains would it give me over using my stock muffler?

Over a stock muffler it will probally yeild the same gains as a good flowing catback, if you have a good flowing catback it wont help that much b/c its already good flowing, but a stock muffler flows terrible so its eating more HP so by bypassing it your gaining more HP

wuld it be fesable to make a steel plate that is just partialy open for the cutout similar to the borla system. for example 2" diameter hole in a plate to make the cutout not as loud or even 1.5 or 1" etc

You will gain about 10 or more hp and about 5-8 tq. Torque loss is a myth. The slp dual dual is a perfect catback to run a cutout on.
