True Duals or Hooker catback

True Duals or Hooker catback
Hey guys i got a 99 TA with gutted cats and loudmouth catback. I just got done installing the MS3 cam, tsp ls6 heads, pacesetter longtubes and purchased the tsp ory to go with but haven't installed the ory to the catback yet because we're still finishing work on the car. I have started the car and it sounds freaking awesome with open headers . I know everyone says LM with ory and longtubes sounds like crap and i'll hear it myself when i get to finishing putting on the ory. My other problem is that i'm moving back in with my mom...errr and i know i'm going to need to quieten down the car somewhat because of neighbors and whatnot .
I was wondering if anybody had about the same setup as my car with either true duals, hooker catback, or LM and what it sounds like and how loud it is. A buddy of mine has the hooker catback with longtubes and catted y and it sounds great when he's gettting on it, so i do like the hooker but i've heard true duals are awesome but i'm worried about the idle noise especially at startup and i'm having to warm up my car in the mornings (damn neighbors). Personally i love the sounds of the LM and i got used to the drone by turning up the radio but unfortanely my radio has gone out lol. Anyhoo if some peeps could leave some feedback it would be much appreciated.
Thx Rusty

Hey JDP do have a cam with ur setup, if so how loud is it at startup and idle. Are u waking the neighbors 5 houses down loud or just 2 houses down. Also what mufflers or bullets are using on ur setup. Just as a side note, when we turned over the motor for the first time after doing the head and cam on it at 1:00 in the morning on monday i got complaints from 5 houses down lol. Gotta love open headers. I hod to know the damn motor was going to work and i didnt send thousands of dollars down the tube.

Heres a clip of the cutout closed thru Hooker catback, then cutout open, the hooker is VERY quiet at idle

no doubt the true duals will outflow a single 3" catback but if noise is a concern i would definitely get the hooker and maybe get a cutout for wher you want to wreak havoc on the ears.

Werd ^^^ Quiet? Not entirely possible with true duals, ESPECIALLY with a cam. I did my TSP duals with the spiral flows, regarded as the QUIETEST of the three mufflers. My friend drove my car around the block for a few minutes the other day so I could hear. It sounds unreal, but it is incredibly loud. I couldn't believe when he told me he was barely more than half throttle. Hooker catback and a cutout is my suggestion, or an SLP dual dual if you can find one. Good luck.

true duals are the best set-up you can probably have, but he is looking for something quiet. id say slp dual dual, hooker, magnaflow are the quietest you can get(at lower rpms), but still have great flow and great sound at WOT. skip the TD, get a hooker!!

Well guys thx for all ur guys input and info. After alot of thought and even though i know i would love the sound of true duals, i've decided to go with the Hooker catback for right now. I've heard the hooker exhaut with longtubes and i know they sound great especially at WOT. Maybe later when i'm on my own i'll get a true dual setup.

Dumped TDs with stock mufflers? What's the point IMO. I'm not smoking anything by the way. I have yet to hear a dumped system that's quiet, PERIOD. The worst part about this subject is that QUIET is just that, SUBJECTIVE. What's quiet to you, certainly doesn't seem like it's quiet to me and I guess it's just an agree to disagree issue. Not looking to start a pissing match, I'm just going by what I've heard (maybe I haven't heard enough...?)
