Default Does tranny fluid go in here?

I just changed my tranny fluid out to Royal Purple a couple weeks ago and upon chnaging out my shifter 2day I noticed a small puddle of fluid in this area:

Am I supposed to put fluid in here? If so how much?

Thanks again

It's just an easier way to fill the tranny than having to use a rubber hose snaked through the engine bay, or pump from underneath. Just have someone watch for the fluid to start trickling out the fill plug while you add the fluid.

Thats how i filled my tranny. I just pulled the fill plug, and poured the fluid in the top, until it came out the fill hole. Easy to do.
