Help: Driving with Bad Catalytic Converter
My SES light came on and i had my car diagonsed at Pontiac and they said I have a bad catalytic converter. I was planning on driving to the beach in a few days and was wondering what the effects were of driving with a bad catalytic converter. Is this something that needs to be fixed immediately or can it wait? Thanks

If it's clogged, you'll notice poor performance and probably poor fuel economy but you will not hurt anything. Cats have an 8 yr/80k? mile warranty if I remember right....they have to replace it for free if you're under 80k miles (I think it's 80k, might be higher).
EDIT: 2000TransAmWS6 beat me to it!!

My car has 94,000 miles. I guess now would be a good time to upgrade to hi-flow cats or no cats at all. If I were to upgrade to hi-flow cats, would I need anything else besides the cats? What about going to no cats? I have the loudmouth exhaust. Thanks

I'm planning on getting a pair of the random tech hi flow cats. are these cats an easy, direct replacement for the stock cats? or does alot of work need to be done to replace them? Also, do i need anything besides the cats?
