Default Fuel pump removal question!? Help

My fuel pump went out in my 97 jimmy today. The new pump ($350!!!) looks like this:

I have all the wires removed, all the lines removed and the pump is just there attached to the tank. How do I remove the pump assembly from the tank? I dont see any screws or anything. Do I just turn it? if so, which way?

THanks,

There is a hold down ring on the top you have to turn that the pump assembly stays stationary.

You will find a metal (usually) ring that locks into a larger ring on the tank use a brass punch (to help avoid sparks) and carefully tap the inner ring to the left until it releases. Opposite to re-install.

I didn't have much to hammer this locking ring with, in the end I actually used a couple of flat bladed screw drivers to leaver the ring round (think it was anti-clock wise). Once you got the ring loose and disconnected all your fuel pipes then you can lift it out of the tank. Take care lifting it out, the fuel level float may get caught on exit, if you bend it you fuel level readings will be wrong.
