By the sounds of it you are ready for a pretty healthy cam, but what are you looking to do with the car street/strip or mostly drag racing?? I've always said i'd stick with something like the TR224 with a 114 LSA but after seeing that these cars can handle some pretty heafty cams with stock heads I might lean toward something in the 230 range with maybe 600 lift but still with a 114LSA because it would be a street car 95% of the time.

You are in Cali. so if you want to keep it a DD, you would need a smaller cam to keep the sniffer happy.

Is't it funny how those old school trans. guys flip the hell out when you put in a big stall. Don't they know what a lock-up converter does?

I'm going with the F13 (230/232 .595/.585 112 LSA). I have the same coverter being installed right now. How do you like the converter?

So far so good!

Now that I got the motor and Tranny done, I am testing it out in a few weeks at the Muscle Car Shoot-out up at Brainerd International Raceway.. Im hoping for 11.5. Hopefully, lower then that. If I can get kicked out (11.49 or lower) then ill be pumped!

Ill post up afterwards.

I just drove mine home. What a difference! Now I need tires.
It's looser than what I thought it was gonna be, but I can live with it. I can definatley tell the converter is in there. FWIW my tranny temp has not gone up at all from the converter.

It must not be hot where your at or you have not gotten stuck in traffic. Mine, shoots to ~170 - ~200 in and around traffic. Once on the highway, it locks up and temps drop. I do have the 24K B&M cooler. I am actually going to put another on in line with that one. HEAT KILLS transmission for the most part. If I was you, I would get one for sure pretty quick. How are you monitoring your tranny temps?
Usually, most guys run 3:73's to help with the loosness. I have 3:23's now and have 3:73's still in the box.

Vette has tranny temp in the DIC. I live where it's hotter than hell (Southern Louisiana). 183* on the interstate at 75 mph. Hadn't got stuck in traffic yet. I do plan on putting a tranny cooler in it. I have the stock 3.15 gears in it. If it'll "tighten" the converter a bit I may put a 3.42 in.
