Default new fuel pump, noticing some problems

I had a new stock fuel pump put into my 98 ls1

Afterwards I can't seem to fill my tank all the way up. Every pump I've tried will click off before letting me fill it to the max.

I also seem to be getting much worse gas mileage

What are some possible things causing this?

The 15" fill tube is kinked. It is inside the drivers rear wheel well. There is a plastic piece you can take out & get right to the fill tube. You might need to slide it on more. It is much like a radiator hose.
Hope this helps
