Default ? about cutting bumper for FMIC, TA

Hello, well i just had some bad luck today with mom backing into the pass side of my front bumper scraping it all up. So its going in to get repainted next week (needed to be repainted anyway so this is not a bad thing, lol) Anyway, i've been thinking... when you guys have to cut the front bumper behind where the filler plate is... how do you do it? Do you need to repaint after you cut or what? Just how do you do it and what else needs to be done. Thanks!

I didnt repaint mine, I left enough where the filler plate can be put back on and not even notice it was cut. I used a dremel with a cutoff wheel, took about 10 minutes off the car and used a little touch up paint around the edge where the cut is since the bumper is kind of yellowish under the paint.

Did what Kev did. I'm able to put the plate cover on at anytime.

Used a dremel and about 15 lil cut off wheels...then I bought a fiber reinforced cut off wheel and cut the panel out in about 3 minutes

I didnt have pics to go by, just did it. Once you are there it'll become pretty clear on what you need to do.

Yea, you need reinforced cutoff wheels, the other ones will shatter if they get bent at all. I dont have any close up pics, best I have is here.

It probably wont matter as much on yours, but since my car is red and the inside of my bumper cover is black its noticable. When I take the car in to get some touch up work done on it I am going to have the inside of it dusted.
