275/50r17
Did anyone ever try a 17 inch 50 series tire for the
drag strip? Some Performance Mfrs make them for Trucks.
Stock is 275/40R17. I want to keep the stock rims.

it should fit. as long as it isnt too wide for its height. i have 235/60/16s which are ~.5" shorter in height than 275/50/17s. my fronts are 235/55/16s and you can tell the difference, but no ABS problems. you might have to use 275/45 in the front so yuor ABS doesnt act a fool...

I have Nitto street tire 275/50 r17. They are 28" tall and will screw up your ABS/ traction control features. Mine were not functional anyway so that was OK. They look great and are alot wider than the 275/40's i had. M&H also makes a drag radial in this size. Mine are on 17x9.5 z06's.

Thank for the replys. I was thinking of doing this for track only tires. (oe spair rims)
So Abs is not a factor plus I may be going with the 9inch so I would have to
get rid of it because I am 3 channel.
Plus if I go with the dana 60 the highest gear ratio is 3.56 I believe.
I may run out of gear when I go with Forged internals with my procharger.
The only way would to get a taller tire.

I never heard of MandH tires. Just found their website.
They look really good (beefy). They have a vid on them.
How do they perform? Also how are the street nittos compared to the drag radials?
