You know what pisses me off? Harley and Custom riders can ride around all day long with straight pipes sounding annoying as hell and the cops don't do a single thing. But you let a car sound like that and "WHOA" its a big deal!!!
A good friend of mine is a motorcycle cop and he totally agreed with me. I think its total bullshit myself.
Yes, I got pulled over for a loud exhaust on my LT1 car before, but it was Hooker LT's and a Mufflex catback (which isn't loud).
Sorry, just reading your post made me want to vent!

I'll get a little off subject on my own post. My buddy has recently
purchased two new Harleys and the dealers actually promote making
more noise. They don't want you to leave the dealership without spending
more money on loud pipes. I also wonder why are Harleys allowed to be this noisey.

I had a SLP loudmouth on mine with LT's, the really tiny dynatech cats, and a cam. Yes it is loud...in fact mine was louder than my friends car that is stock with a cutout. Never had an issue with the law. I have been pulled over three times...all three times were B.S. They just wanted to see if I had been drinking (I hadn't) and used my license plate cover as an excuse to pull me over. They never said a word about how loud my car was. In fact...one commented on if I planned on doing any more to my car. I now have a GMMG cat back and it is as loud but with a deeper tone and a little less rasp. I like them both fine. I wouldn't have changed but I got a GREAT deal from a friend on the GMMG!! I loved how it sounded stock with the LM and would definetly consider it for a "stock" car. A cam and headers car can be a bit obnoxious but I didn't care...sounded cool to me.
