I dont rely on my stock tach very often. It seems to hit the limiter between 5800-6300ish most of the time. The bad part is cammed without a tune and a stock limiter by car wants to keep pulling, so i shift off the limiter. WIth my car as soon as it hits, i hit the next gear. lol. Im sure its not the best way, but that tach sucks ***. i would say take it out let it hit the rev-limter in 2nd and 3rd just to see where it hit. Then just shift a little lower. First gear mine is WAY off....i dont hook at all. That is just what i do....i dont know how you feel about the rev-limiter.

Stock i tried to stay around 5700-6000...

I think about 5600 first gear. Raise it up to about 5700-5800 in second gear and maybe a touch higher in 3rd.

I have a stock tach with no shift-light and I found my best results (seat of the pants) shifting 1-2 when the tach hits 5,000. 2-3 5,200. every gear after that I think the stock tach keeps up pretty good.
