Default gears are gettin hard to get into......

i drove my car all weekend last weekend, it drove perfect like always, but i noticed that the trans tunnel was puttin off a little heat, i could feel it gettin real warm around my legs when i was driving. parked the car sunday night. got the car back out yesterday to drive it to the strip. when im backing outta the garage i notice how low the release point is on the clutch, it was about an inch off the floor. usually the release point is about halfway through the pedal.

i drive it around for a little and the gears start gettin hard to get into, the longer i drive it, the harder each gear is to get in. it does it with all gears 1-6 and reverse. but now the car isnt puttin off the ehat from the trans area like it ws sunday. when the car isnt running, itll go through the gears like butter, no problem at all. the resevoir is full of fluid too.

FYI the car has a spec stage 2 with the zo6 slave and master cylinders (all replaced last november, which was about 10,000 miles ago). i hardly ever drive the car like i stole it either, so whats wrong here?

Similar problem on a friend's car, turns out his pressure plate bolts backed out of the flywheel...

Don't drive it until you fix it!

I'm having a similar problem with my car, I replaced the clutch with a ram powergrip, also replaced the throwout, pilot, and slave cylinder. Was perfect for a few months now recently the pedal isn't returning all the way up and its engaging like an inch from the bottom. I think I just have to bleed it, hopefully. But when the pedal doesnt return to the top I can just lift it up with my foot, and the clutch disengages at the normal point again till the pedal does it again. Check to see if you can lift the pedal up when thats happening.

the clutch pedal isnt what im worried about.....the gears are gettin reaaaal hard to shift into. it isnt a fluid issue i dont think...when the engine is off, the gears shift fine.

if the bolts were backin out that would result in a slipping clutch wouldnt it?

results in a non-disengaging clutch.

what kinda clutch and slave ya get? if its an aftermarket clutch like stage 2 or greater, you'll need an 02 slave cylinder.

well they just dropped the transmission, and just like CamTom12 said, it was the bolts backing out of the pressure plate. when it was installed last year, no locktuite was put on the bolts for some reason?!? i didnt think thi was the problem bc the clutch wasnt clipping, i just wasnt driving the car hard enough to make the clutch slip. so, PROBLEM FIXED and im a happy man!
