That sucks. I kind of feel your pain though. Although mine was nowhere near as bad as yours. When I bought my SS it was my first manual so I was wet behind the ears. Not even a month after I bought her the clutch went out while I was going uphill trying to shift into 2nd gear. It sucked. I later met a guy that also has a 2000 SS and he said he test drove my car but didn't get it because the clutch was about to go and the rotors were warped. I knew about the rotors but not the clutch. The guy I bought it from had her parked in his garage next to a 1995 Firehawk #32 of 100 limited edition. I think that's what he said. The guy knew he could blow smoke up my *** and I would believe him. Which I did. It's hard to find honest people anymore.

How was the car maintained? I've seen cars that have low miles but the people who owned them never changed anything or if they did they used the cheapest they could find. Regular oil, regular 87 gas, wrong coolent, etc. LSX's like synthetic oil and run best on 93 octane. I almost bought a 97 LT1 WS6 T/A that had 64,000 miles on it. The paint was shabby but restorable, the interior was nice, and the fluids looked like they had never been changed. I bought my current car with 119,000 on it instead. The paint was nicer, the interior was about the same, and all the fluids were fresh...even the underside of the oil cap was fairly clean. The car ran better as well (not just because of LS1). It had been taken care of. That's why mileage doesn't have as much meaning as it used to.
