Default C5 or Firebird

i think selling off mods from the firebird would pay for the difference between the two. this would put me behind in mods for the vette but not out of the game

the vette would get the turbotech x package unless george wants to do something different.. i would be happy with the x. there are guys around 900rw with this twin kit. i would need a good roll bar and do whatever the guys do with the IRS for the power.

the bird would have a turbotech race kit and stay stick shift and keep everything else off of mine

both cars would have my engine and bs3 and twin walbro in tanks.

the next car will be built for great street manners in mind. not a drag car, just a nice car. now that i can't keep my bird i really want something that will hold its looks and value until i have a house and kids paid for.

I would vote C5 for 2 reasons Dave. You have already done the F-body turbo car, and C5 turbo cars are more rare. You see quite a few more turbo F-bodys on here than Y bodys.

It would be real interesting to see a buildup of a turbo vette.

theres a reason for that

turbo vettes SUCK hahaha

irs sucks, gl putting power to the ground EVER, also good luck with running any kinda slicks. yeah you could put a 9 inch in it and put the trans up front...but thats an fbody...so just start out with one and aviod the bs haha.

you asked for opinoins, and this is mine. atleast with an fbody you can plant the power. the vette has no chance in hell.

C5 -Automatic with a drag pack!

The autos are what keeps the drivelines together on the fast cars.

From what I've seen, vettes hold value better. That being said do you want to:
A. stick with the known path of the bird and REALLY nail it down to the car you want it to be, or
B. walk the new path with a vette?

Personally, that's what I'd base it on. Both have pros and cons. Good luck either way!

vette. Lighter car, handles better, better street car. But will probably have worse traction and worse reliability in the drivetrain.

he clearly said he wants a nice driver, not a track car. i'd say defenitely an electron blue c5. do ur performance, and slap some nice rims on there and u got urself a pimp ride that still ***** and gets, and will beat 99.99% of the cars around u. sure, from a dig, it wont be as easy/inexpensive to launch, but it'd def be a cooler car to drive around town and stab on the highway

You already have most/all of the built drivetrain salvagable and able to go into another Fbody. All the $ in building a car is in the engine/drivetrain...you'd be out alot more $$ in a vette for the same power with better traction in a TA. I've done tons to my TA and wouldn't trade for a new Z06 much less anything else.

Default Vette!

I have an 02 ZO6 and have really noticed the advantage of the weight diff. from my previous 99 WS6 Formula in every aspect of performance.

I wont vote because I have modded both cars. The vette handles better but the drivetrain in High HP applications needs upgrades. And they are expensive compared to the F body. On the other hand you just have to retire the body you have now and find another one and put the driveline in that setup. Good luck I do perfer the vettes just sucks with the IRS on a high HP car and a sticky track!

Its a hard choice, I'd like to see you in another formula but a vette with minitubs, 335 DRs on the back and a big turbo kit sounds cool too

To each his own. I love the looks of the formula. Thats why I bought one. Thats what I drooled over in highschool. From your post it sounds like you prefer the vette, so buy one.

I got to drive an 03 z06 for a day. Afterwards I was kind of disgusted that I had thought so highly of them for so long. Your paying a lot for the name.
