Exclamation power steering problems (00' WS6)

I have a 2000 trans am ws6. I have just replaced the power steering pump and resoivor, but for some reason, the pump is leaking out around the cap or somewhere on the resoivor,(used resoivor but not the one from the old pump) I was thinking the rack might have something blocking the flow? or a stuck valve because of dirt? if anyone has any clue all help is greatly appreciated

thanks

sometimes when a pump or rack n pinion are replaced by themselves....there can be shavings left over in either piece...did you flush the system when you replaced the pump?, like i said sometimes the metal will get into the rack and come back into the pump causing internal problems

you cant really flush the pump per say....but you can plug the lines and just flush it like your flushing a brake line....i just replaced everything when my rack broke so i didnt really have to flush the system....its good to do it all otherwise like i said the metal shavings will get into either the pump and wear out the little gears, or get into the rack and cause it to stick....you can get a pump for about 190, and a rack for around the same....if you need to know how to replace the hardware just let me know

you see anything come out in the fluid....it wouldnt have been big, but more like a paste or something shiny....let very fine metal shavings?
