Default misfire/rough idle??

I was having cylinder 2 misfire, along with a code of my O2 being fouled out. The car was shaking and it would choke and rumble when given gas. I changed the O2 and for about 3 days the car ran fine. Now the rough idle and the shaking is back? When sitting at a light it would idle rough and then seem to choke back into normal running. Could this be a plugged fuel injector? Old gas filter? Thanks guys!

you can def. check those, are you throwing any other codes, it sounds like you could either have a air leak or a failing maf....how many miles are on the car?

Ok, here are the codes i have

P0152
P0418
P1153
P0300

I had this rough idle and shaking for a bit, so i got a code check last week, and the front passenger 02 came up. I changed it 2 days ago, so that code may not be in effect? And the air pump is gone so that code is not in effect eithere.

Hopefully i can figure this out!

I just ended up having the exact same problems last week with those codes and rough idle and over the past weekened I found out it was my fuel pump. I hope thats not the problem with yours but you might want to check your fuel pressure on the fuel rail.

My O2's should be fine now, my car runs for about a mile after startup fine, then usually everytime around the same distance it runs hard and idles terribly rough. I have an Auto (A4) and it seems like from take off it shakes and doesnt want to switch into the next gear, but it does and then it kind of surges. Not sure if this gives any more help?

Oh and if im around 30+mph if i WOT it it seems to be ok until i let off the gas again??

This is such a pain! lol

I hope its not the pump.

It's going to be the passenger side pre-cat O2 sensor.

FWIW, here's how you can tell what side/sensor it is.

Bank 1 - Driver side
Bank 2 - Passenger side
Sensor 1 - Pre-cat
Sensor 2 - Post-cat

If the TC was bad, wouldnt this be a constant problem? When the car is running right (the very few times it is) it runs good, shifts nice, decent acceleration. But yeah ill get back after replacing the cheaper stuff first.

Well, i changed the fuel filter today, and the car runs like new! The fuel filter is the STOCK fuel filter on an 80,000 mile car!
I thought it was changed by the previous owner! Whew, and the pump works fine, so thats not a problem eithere, new O2's i got them rescanned today and no Codes came up. So i think its solved!

i have the same problem. the passenger side plugs all fouled and the front 02 same side. i changed the fuel filter nothing changed. i have the same symptoms as you, rough idle while at a light you can feel through the seat. i can rev it a bit and it will shake the steering wheel and kar. i have tr6s gapped at 45 which kept the p0300 code off for 5 months now. but i have the same symptoms as you minus any codes popping up... runs rough enough to pop a code but it doesnt. any help
