Question Which is Better F2 or 88mm Turbo

I already have the turbo but not on the car it currently has an Vortech X Trim only making 16.5 #'s of boost and it still makes over 1000rwhp but need more and I was wondering if the F2 would make more HP than the 88mm turbo?I am limited to either the F2 or 88mm turbo so anything else is out of the ? Just looking for input on these 2.Thanks

What you need is counseling, if 1000rwhp is not enough.

which 88mm turbo
if its a precision PTE88 (medium frame, T4 or T6 exhaust housing) then the F2 would probably make more.
if it was a precision 88/98 cheater turbo then probably yes.

Can you run an 88/98 cheater turbo or does it have to be a true 88? What's your name btw.

Are you running PSCA or something?

Thanks.I know I really need counseling when I run a class that is a 1/2 sec faster and I keep getting my *** handed to me by nos cars that get to weight 350#'s less then my combo and they get bigger motors to boot and 2 stages of nos .I have the only forced induction car in my class.

I think that I could run a cheater turbo as long as the inlet messures an 88mm.

I don't know much about these larger head units, but I do know that a T4 framed T88 has made 1180 rwhp on a 302, though a 5 spd. The T6 frame should be capable of more.

Sounds like you need to research the rules to figure out your options. A true 88mm can run 7.9-8.1's but I'm guessing your car is kind of heavy? What does the class run right now, 7.80's?

Rules sound a lot like NMRA Drag Radial.

You know who you should talk to? Brian @ Precision Turbo? He has personal experience with the F2, and also has a lot of experience with the NMRA 85 turbo crowd:

I've heard of NMRA Drag Radial dipping down to the 8.2's right now with the YSi at competition weight, and I think the fastest turbo guy went 8.2 as well. I think they might have allowed the 88mm this year but I don't follow NMRA that much anymore.

The record to date is Chad Doyle who ran an 8.13 @ 172, but with an F1R on a BFG, in the heat at the NMRA event in Reading.

One of his teammates, Jason Lee, put an F2 on his car and went 7.82 @ 170 (letting off before the stripe) last weekend at Milan on a MT DR.

At the same event that 8seclt1 went his 8.16, Doyle (F1R) went a 8.10, and Kolivas (turbo) did too.
