piston rings washed???
I dynoed 402 rwhp on a dynojet with a tune. I was at LEAST expecting 450rwhp. The only thing i think what could be holding me back is the rings have not sealed yet. My car smoke prefusely at idle randomly. Im using 10w40 Penzoil SAE oil. Ive changed my oil 4 times already and every time it is black as **** and has gas in it (which I was told was normal). I have 1400 miles on my motor. My car is throwing 2 codes p0125 which is a TPS sensor code and p0135 which is a o2 sensor heater malfunction on bank 1 sensor 1. What other possibilites could cause such a dramtic power loss. I made 400rwhp with just a MS3 before my current setup. All my supporting mods are listed in my sig. Some one please help....

Sounds like you have the same problem I do. I ran my 347 on the dyno heads stage 1 for nitrous (317 truck castings) and 224/230 XER cam. I put down 358/349 and was having an ***-ton of blowby due to the nitrous rings. Motor runs hard as hell on the street. I know that I was having that problem due to the rings.
What are your ring tolerances?

It sounds like your o2 on the driver side header is whacked, either from blow by from rings or it is causing your car to run rich and causing rings not to seat. Is the smoke mainly coming from your driver side or do you have single exhaust. Just a thought, hope this helps.

Im not sure what my ring tolerances are, but HPE said the rings would hold a 250 shot of juice no problem. The smoking mainly comes out my cutout on the passenger side but also still comes out the tail pipes. Like I said it smokes on and off, and never smokes at WOT or cruise. I replaced the fornt o2 sensor because a couple of weeks ago the driver side o2 sensor melted on the header and popped a fuse, which threw everything off. I got all that fixed now and replaced the o2 sensor.
Orangepeel, how did you fix your problem? I also plan on running nitrous.....

May be interesting to log your fuel trims.
If your O2 sensor is giving an odd reading, and it winds up the fuel trims on one side of the engine, then that alone will surely loose you power.

Haven't gotten a chance to do a leak down/compression check yet due to work. Maybe tonight I may be able to. The thing I find weird is the smoke is white thats coming out not blue.... My coolant level is good but its definitely burning oil, I can smell it and my low oil light comes on. It s burning about a quart every 500 miles or so average. It would be awesome if my smoking problems went away after the PCV delete but I don't know till I try it right?
