I tried to take the belt off my wifes car. The idle pullie is deep inside and a socket can't even fit down inside. There is like 2 inches of room. Who designed this pos? He body got a picture walk through on something like this.

I had the same problem, it is a bitch, but can be done.

IT took me about 4 hours to change the damn alternotor because of it.

I had a buddies dad come over, he worked at a body shop. I rented a tool from Advance auto, and didn't have time to play with it. A socket could get in it, had to be done with a flat extension and grip like 13 mm. Weird.

I used to have a J-body and it was just a big pain in the *** to do any work on. The Twin Cam is a nice motor even though it is crammed in there.

I own two 96' Cavy's and all you need to do that job is purchase yourself a deep offset wrench from Sears or something and your problem is solved
