How to tell an LS1?
Hi, obviously I'm new, I just purchased a 1999 Pontiac Transam and was wondering if it is an LS1 or not? How can I tell? I know it's a 350 5.7liter v8....6 speed..any other way to tell what engine i have?

...then it's an LS1. Congrats.
No other type of V8 came in the 98-02 F-bodies (Camaros and Firebirds).
An LT1 came in the 93-97 F-bodies. It looks like this:
This is a L98 (350 TPI, tune-port injection) engine in an '91 Z28:
The third generation F-bodies (82-92) also came with a 5.0 Liter, but all fourth gens came with 5.7.
