1984 Trans Am CE

1984 Trans Am 15th Ann.
I have an 84 TA 15th Ann. that I'm looking into some options on.
No longer does it have the stock engine and I'm not really looking to restore it back to original because original parts have been nearly impossible to find, at least the last time I searched a few years back.
The original engine had been pulled out and replaced with a 350, not exactly sure what year since I don't know where exactly the engine came from. The TA was purchased more as a hobby car to work on and drive around.
I'm looking at two options.
1) Sell it to who ever wants to remove it.
or
2) Rebuild with after-market equipment and return the car to the road, at least with the appearance maintained.
I'm looking for ideas or thoughts on this particular car. My understanding is that only a small amount were actually built and the only other car to share identical parts was a '83 Grand Prix?
Any info on this would be appreciated, along with any recommended sites for finding aftermarket parts that would fit. Or, if anyone has interest in this car, let me know.

Try www.thirdgen.org it's the ls1tech of the 3rd gen world
IIRC there is a guy with a 15th anniversary edition.
They have several sponsors who would be glad to help you find parts, I think year one has the stripe kit

I think that restoring it to original appearance but with engine and tranny upgrade is ok. but if you want to restore it for like shows or soemthing, then you would want to get an original engine, its kinda hard, you need to find out what the engine casting numbers were for your car originally and track down an engine, heads, and intake for your car, whats on teh inside doesnt really matter

After checking out the 3rdgen site, I realize its really not worth restoring financially.
The best I could expect, according to that site, would be a mere $5,000 at best. Apparently the 82 to 84 cars really aren't worth the money.
Considering the amount I would need to invest, it would be financially stupid on my part to even begin a restoration. I should just sell it for $1,000 a be done with it.

I'll stick to driving the truck. Better gas mileage and it doesn't have a tendancy to want to spin out.

I had a 15th Ann. TA new back in the day and although I had a lot of warranty repairs with it, I loved that car and have always missed it. I have planned to get as nice a one as I could find when I have the chance ever since I bought my 30th Ann. TA and almost bought one a year ago with 19k miles and mint but passed (kicked myself in the butt for quite sometime) and then was ready to buy one with 29k miles and very nice this past Spring... when I stumbled across a new 2005 Pontiac Bonneville GXP that was in White Gold Tricoat plus every available option - with a $12,000 discount - I couldn't pass on the Bonnie and I love it! The 15th Ann. TA will come in due time... in due time!
