Default LQ4 Engine Bay Fire

I can buy an 2005 LQ4 from a junkyard with 13000miles for $950. Comes with a water pump, flexplate and exhaust manifolds. The guy says it's been in a "minor" engine bay fire and the stuff on top will need to be replaced. I think I can carb it and stick it in my car for $2000. Is there anything to be leary of with an engine that has been involved with a fire? Thanks.

thanks for being the voice of reason. I'm still on the hunt for doing a 6.0 for under $2000.

**** I don't know where you are at but you can pick them up all day long in salvage yard with low miles and everything on them from 8-1200 depending on miles. Harnes pcm and all accessories. But, south texas has tons of trucks so the yards are loaded with them.
