btw, EFI is not for fuel economy.. its for fuel control.
even running alky, theres no reason to ditch the EFI..

This reminds me of the Mac vs PC debate - you either hate one and love the other with little middle ground.
Think it was this year at some car shows some LS's showed up carbed with essentially 'manta' hoods for a bit of a raised cowel, you need approx 1½-2" of additonal room on top though it does depend on what the entire set up is. If your ground clearance is a tennis ball eater you are going to need round 3" additional height for it to fit - if you are closer to stock height you may need no alteration depending on the size block.
My affinity towards having a carbed LS (or LT) is greater than trying to stuff a tt set up though I wouldn't rule it out, just depends on what the finances will be come build time. If I can it will be carbed considering there are some first gens that were haulin' pig weight and still running consistent 13's. With some modding and weight reduction you could easily get solid low 12 runs on the quarter, boosted into the high 11's. FI has its pros and cons as does carbed - its just a matter of what you are more comfortable working on.

Yep us white trash peoples dont know what ta do with that there feeeeuuull injection dag nabit. How well can u read? Im running 99.9% ethanol. In a full out bracket car. Ive already got an alky carb not an alcohol compatable fuel injection set up. Thanks to the ones that responded like they have a brain

OK, so will a carb on a LSx in a 4th Gen fit with just a hood or does the cowl itself have to be significantly modified? I'm with the OP on this, white trash or not some have reasons for wanting a carb, so will it fit please? If not, what changes have to be made, thanks.
