Default suggestions for more power

Want to keep up with my buddy's 03 z06 (a4-factory rated at 405hp) What can I do to get to around 400-410 hp? I dyno at 375 rwhp. Thinking about a cam swap- to something like a 224/230 .573/.533 112 lsa. Maybe some weight saving-k member, a arms package, remove rear seats. I only have about $1000, so I must choose wisely. DD, so most weight saving mods are out of the question. Thanks for any suggestions.

Sorry, forgot to say. Not really looking for forced induction. Want a naturally aspirated engine. Thanks!

FLP stage 2 heads, ported LT4 intake, AS&M headers, B&B tri flow catback w/ elec. cutout, tune, ud pulley, aluminum driveshaft, ported Holly 58mm tb, Racetronix fuel system, SVO 30# injectors, 1.6 rr, 3.73. Add that to what I have in the sig. There are also a few weight saving mods-z06 brakes, the hood is fiberglass, and some of the suspension mods are chromoly. I think that's all. I was thinking about an ewp also. Meziere's only draws 6 amps and costs under $200. Summit has one for $160 w/ 10k hour life expectancy. How much gains will I likely see with an ewp? Thanks.

Et was 12.2 in 2004. The car was fbody of the month on cz28.com in April 2004. I just bought the car last week. I didn't mod it, dyno or take it to the track. I haven't had any time to really test it out yet. As soon as I add a few more ponies I'm gonna run it vs. my boy's z06.

Daily Driver you say.... Do you have an alternate ride if you do some work to yours for a week or something? Are you looking for power thats always there or just the added bonus power when you want to shut your buddies down?

- N20 definitely fits in your $1000 budget. Might actually be kinda fun trying to make it a sneaky/hidden setup too and have people second guessing you..
- Unless you can find used parts or have a extremely good hook-up, I dont see the heads and cam coming in under $1000. could be pretty close but, then you have new gaskets, fluids, and miscellanious to tack on
- do you already have 1.6 RR's?
- What gears are your running? That would be another way to fit the budget.

*** Ummm.. just noticed you dont mention headers or exhaust on your sig... I'm assuming you just forgot to mention it? If not, then hands down this is where your money better go.

Mentioned headers and cat back above. Just forgot them in my sig. Gonna fix that in a minute. Cam swap would probably be closer to $2500. But how much hp will I gain going from an LT4 hotcam to a 228/230 with somewhere around .575 lift 114 lsa? If it's gonna be well over $1k, I want more than just 10-15 rwhp gains.

custom cam from bret bauer, with springs like $550-$600 then $200 for ewp. gaskets and all should put you to the $1000-$1200 mark, and you'll beat the vette. use what your car already has and change the cam for that, and you'll go much faster. it's not all in the hp #'s, look for where you make it.

No doubt it's not all about #s. His vette is fiberglass body. So I got a few hundred #s on him. I would like power to always be there. Not really into FI. Although a turbo would be nice, I don't have the loot (insert frowny face here).

P.S. I have pics and dyno video. I can email it to someone if they're interested. Dyno numbers I have, but not downloaded yet.

How the heck does your buddy have a automatic Z06? Did he have the trans swapped out?
