Default OK those with autos and 3800-4400 stalls inside..

If you know the calculator info, post your torque converter efficiency going through the traps using this TCI calculator.

http://tciauto.com/Products/TechInfo/Calculators.asp#4

For comparisons sake list your set up:

Engine cubic inches-
Converter type/stall-
Gear ratio-
Trap rpm-
Tire size-
Trap MPH-

Third gear will be "1"

I now it's not the correct way to calculate TC efficiency, but it will give real world comparisons. The NA vs N2O results may skew things a bit, but lets see what we get.

Good point. I'm running radials and didn't consider that. I would guess an inch, give or take a fractional amount. Most are using their tachs as a reference for the rpm rather than logging the data so the variance of the tach accuracy and using a 1" growth will be somewhat close huh?

28" ET drag is either 7.5 with no tire growth or 11.4 with 1" of tire growth.

Wow that 1" makes a good bit of difference, but that's the best so far. What converter is that Steve?

Continental 4200. Soon to be for sale. I need to match the converter to the new engine. This one was great last year but is not right for this combo. That's why the car is so slow right now.

Thanks Steve, those are good numbers man!

8.18 is pretty darn efficient. I can't wait to see what it does on the jug

Engine cubic inches- 346
Converter type/stall- Yank PT 4800
Gear ratio- 4.10
Trap rpm- 6820
Tire size- 28 ET Drag
Trap MPH- 121.30

28" ET drag is either 3.89% with no tire growth or 7.60% with 1" of tire growth. Yank PT 4800 4l60e converter. It really flashes around 4000 rpm.
