Cam and Crank Sensor ?

Cam and Crank Sensor ? Why would the cam sensor stop reading when the car throws a code for the crankshaft sensor position performance it's a P0336 code. I'm just tring to rule everthing out before I pull the motor out of the car. It sucks 5 weeks with a new motor and I haven't been able to take it out. Help me out guys.
