Default TB worth buying?

With the mods I have right now, would it be worth it to buy a 52mm Throttle Body? I have a stock TB with an airfoil right now but I hear air foils don't really do anything. I also heard that Bigger TBs are for really modded cars. My friend told me though when he got a new TB, his car felt faster but he has a Neon( non SRT-4).

It wouldnt hurt, especially if you plan on bigger mods in the future.

Every car is different, I noticed more of a throttle response increase more then power. You should have at least a 52mm, when you start talkin beyond heads and cam.

Just don't waste the money on the 58mm, you can purchase a rebuilt 48mm thats been converted to a 52mm. I paid I think $150 for my 52mm

When I went from my stock TB with air foil, to a 52mm I gained alot quicker thottle response. I also gained HP, but I live at high alttitude and air is a rare comodity. I then went to a 58mm and had a bigger gain, than from the stock TB to the 52mm, going from the 52mm to the 58mm. I had put a set of 1.6 rockers on my stock motor, underdrive pulley, MSD 6a ignition, SP wires, Hooker long tube headers, Mufflex 3" to a single 4", and a Granitelli mass air flow sensor. I have run a 14.3 second 1/4 at Bandemere Speedway in Denver, CO with the corrected air density at about 9,000 feet elevation(actual elevation is about 5,800 ft).
