Default Which Engine GTO, FB or CTS-V in 68 FB

I'm doing some research and I'm wondering if anyone motor is better to use in a first gen f-body then onother. Do any of the motors have a oil pan that would not need modified? I think the caddy LS1 has a closser belt system is that needed?

f-body oil pan is the best (shouldnt need to be modified), and the fbody acc system is fine (except ac). some like the vette acc better (still, ac interferes). i'd suggest a custom bracket/belt if you want to keep ac, rather than notching. check the sticky for 1st gens, as this question makes it seem like you havent been there yet.

I did a little reading and it sounds like the Corvette LS2 pan will work. I hope I read that right.
