Exclamation STS Turbo Air Filter Cover - Guess what we found?

The customer (Scott) of the Camaro SS with the STS Turbo that we built brought his car back in to us to have us redo the fuel system, and run the return oil line to a better location than the valve cover. Scott called the other day and mentioned he heard the cover that STS has been sending out with the kits to keep water out of the air filter is proving to be pretty restrictive. We just happened to have Scott's Camaro on the dyno today, and we found an extra 35 rwhp with the cover removed from the filter!!! We tried this several times with the same results, and that is with a clean filter, etc. Bob

How many pounds of boost did it pick up without the cover?

I would guess it made the same boost but with a smaller pressure ratio.

Are you talking about the filter sock cover or the metal shield thing?
