Shoot for 58psi with 0-2 psi drop.

When i put the fuel gauge in was about a year after id been running this fuel pump setup. It always read 65-64psi. Does that seem to high. After i replaced the inline thinking it was bad it would run at about 51-61psi. Is that wierd. The pressure goes down as the car warms up.

With the new inline pump in it goes like this

Cold start 65psi
15 mins into drive 60psi
At operating temp will stay around 56-58psi
At wot will drop to around 52-53psi
Havent tried the spray yet.

Still doesnt explain how it used to be at 65-64psi all the time.
Ideas?

Stock pressure should be 55-60 psi. That's a pretty significant drop and the hotwire kit is designed to prevent pressure droppage at WOT by boosting or maintaining voltage. Have you measured the fuel pressure with a mechanical gauge at the fuel rail? First, connect a mechanical gauge to the schrader connector on the fuel rail, then try this quick test: Turn the ignition On (engine off). Monitor pressure. Leave the ignition ON for 10 minutes, then turn off. Monitor fuel pressure. If dropped more than 5 psi, it could be the regulator.

I have put a guage on the rail but have not let it sit for 10 mins. Ill give this a try.
With the stock regulator, why would having an inline pump even matter. If its going to see higher pressure from the inline you would think it would bleed it off to maintain its designed pressure. right?

okay i did the test with the gauge on there and waited 10 mins. It did not drop at all.
Dont think the stock sender or regulator is bad. Any other thoughts.
Thanks

That's good. Now you need to check the wiring and this is where it gets tough.
You need to check the voltage for the inline hotkit, then check the stock wiring.

Ive checked all wiring. I think its a text book case of a faulty pump. I took a battery with two wire with aligator clips. Connected them to the posts on the pump and it doesnt run, the wires just heat up. I checked all the wiring on the car and it checks out. Just having a hard time convincing the speed shop i bought it from that its bad.
