Test fitted the motor today
How's it going guys? Spend alot of time reading here and have some pics of what I'm working with finally. Let me know what you think.
Pan is hitting the rack needs to go up an inch. Stock manifolds will not work, and looks like some hood clearance problems also, maybe? Looks like I will need to cut the motor mount towers off and move them up a little unless someone has some suggestions.

Use a car intake, or a carb intake and elbow? My car intake wouldnt clear truck accessories, not sure what you are using? Not sure what others are doing fo headers.... there are a few 66-7 novas (I think they are similar in clearance?) on pro-touring and lateral-g web sites if your a member....? Im looking at a 66 and been researching....

Can you use a car intake and still use the DBW? I was really hoping to leave it as is. I do need a new hood but wanted a stock hood, 2" cowl would be ok I guess. Thanks,

DBW? I think speartech makes an adapter to use truck accessories with the car intake, not sure if the waterpump neck is in the way, its been a while since I tried it. The Victor or GMMP carb intake may work, I think the injectors are different, not sure if they clear the cars setup or not, the harness is different, may call speartech and ask exactly what they have....

With the car intake you have to run a car waterpump or modify the truck one... LS1 Camaro manifolds fit super tight compared to the truck ones... Look for 02's they flow the best.

Thanks for all the help guys!
Stealth I may be interested in those manifolds.
Does anybody have any experience with the headers S&P sells the block huggers I guess they call them. Seems like the stck manifolds would work just as well.
Is there anything involved in switching from a truck intake to a car intake? Will all of the plumbing and hoses switch over, injectors also? What kind of mods are we talking about on the water pump? I'm guessing they are not that expensive to replace with a car type if need be.
Also does anyone know if they make a belt setup using an alternator only? I have no PS or AC. Thanks again,
Jimmy

Another question, is there an oli pan out there that is not as deep in the front an inch less than the truck pan? If so does it bolt on w/o oil pump or pickup issues? Thanks again.

When I went to pick up my chevelle tranny xmember from BRP, they had a mid '60s nova over there with a ls1 swap in it.
I'm sure they know what needs to be done for fitment and prolly have kit out...

Here's a rundown of what you get into from the truck forum:
