Default Opinions on an LT1 car I found

I want a 6 speed car bad. I have a 99 A4 and a 98 3800 A4. I need a stick, I found a 97 lt1 formula 6 speed, cloth, aftermarket exhaust looked like hooker, clean clean clean, 79000 miles, and a owners manual. Paint was mint, car looked winter stored and babied. They wanted 8900 for it, I think its a pretty nice car how do you guys think it sounds. Its from a stealership, I think I might wait to find one through an private seller for a better deal but I stopped anyways.

I tried PMing you, but your box is full. Where in MI are you? There is one for sale here in Toledo that looks to be a good deal. Let me know and I can PM the info to you.

As for that specific car in your post, I don't think more than like $7000 is realistic. Being a car that is almost 10 years old and almost 80K miles, it's not worth it IMO. But dealerships always jack it up to get a profit off it.

I agree with everyone. That is definitely on the high side. Have you tried talking them down yet or is that just the asking price?

Paid that much for my '00 6spd (and I was told I overpaid). Look elsewhere, although CLEAN 6spd LT1 cars are hard to find, I see M6 LS1s popping up daily. Good luck.

I just talked to them no dealing. I too see ls1 cars all over which is great and I like mine over the lt1's but I wanted a cheaper 6speed car to have fun with keep stock mainly.

IMO, go to a dealer auction during winter, if they have any v8 fbodies they sell for cheap, since car dealers dont want a sports car on their lot in winter

FYI i saw a 2000 red z28 a4 with around 40kmiles? starting price for $5000 (this was 2 years ago), no dealer was bidding on it because theyd lose money, and thats a price found in NYC

Thought you had to be a dealer to bid at a dealer auction?

you can accompany a dealer to an auction - he simply states that your a driver. when i went to the gate he showed the guys up front his dealer license and plates, kept my mouth shut, and i was in no problems.

they charge 300 bucks if you buy a car, dont go with a dealer who charges you just for coming

If you pay that much you might as well bend over the hood with your pants down.

That dealership has a plan...
