ordered new trans.
I ordered an new 4L60E from Performance Built this morning. $1350 shipped. Very Happy I should have it next friday or the following monday. Can't wait to get it installed and the car running again.
On the daily driver front, i'm taking a second look at a car tonight. And hopefully bring it home in the morning and make a quick trip to Best Buy for a system before all the driving I'll be doing this weekend (car only has am/fm).

will do! I'm excited. I'm also putting a new 10bolt (with only 35k miles) with 3.42's in my car. Should help reduce the load on the trans and converter and lower the heat. And be much faster off the line.
Finally my car won't need the handicapped sticker for my 2.73s LOL!

ok, sorry for the long delay. I've had a very rough month.
Here are the pics:
The only problem was that Performance Built didnt' send the trans with a Reluctor Ring. It was a little difficult removing the old one from the last trans. But they are making it right and sending me a new one that can go with the old trans so i can sell it. Minor problem, and they were GREAT about it when I told them.
EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!
they will talk to you about any issue even over yahoo IM! thats cool. even really late at night too.
The transmission isn't quite as smooth as the Rock-on was, but its not rough by any means. I am thoroughly enjoying it. The shifts are quick and firm when you get on it.
At WOT, the 1-2 and the 2-3 shifts are great. Haven't taken it up fast enough to do a WOT 3-4 shift yet
I also put in a new 10bolt with 3.42 gears (i had 2.73s) and the acceleration is awesome and works great with the stall. On the freeway the trans is running at about 120-130 degrees (used to be 140-150), around town is now 150-170 (used to be 180-210). Granted its cold outside, but the previous temps are what i'd usually run in cold weather. So it is a real world difference.
I am very satisfied with Performance Built. They got it to me in a timely fashion and were available for support nearly 24/7. I'm having a great time enjoying my car back on the road. Hopefully I'll get to the track in the next couple weeks and FINALLY get my 12 sec timeslip.
Thanks Performance Built.
