I would never trust an LS1 if I was off the ground over 4 feet...

I hope that's a valid arguement. Personally, I would be concerned about the reliability of a boosted LSX engine being subjected to constant high RPM's. Putting one up in the air doesn't make me feel any more secure either. I give them props however to originality and fabrication.

it look like its a direct drive right to the propeller i wonder what kind of rpms it turns

This was in a small article of one of this years Hot Rods. The 410 some odd mph is at around 2500-3000 rpm.

I wouldnt either. What happens when/if the plane goes upside down, climbs, dives? Unless they fabd up some type of oiling system...prob wouldnt step in it.

You guys are worried about LS1's in planes? Theyve been using rotaries in planes for years and those are FAR from reliable.

the turbocharger was only used to create sea level ambient pressure at higher altitudes. Those pictures are super old, i wonder if he ever finished it.
