i have 12bolt that i bought some time ago for my z28 and didnt realize that you cant have a spool and run higher than a 3.73....

right now i have a eaton posi and 4.10 gears... it lasted a whole season of 1.5x 60' in a 3700lb race weight car....

im wanting to use a 3 series eaton posi and run 3.42 or 3.50.... i plan on doing more street driving than strip but im wondering how long this 3series posi will last while cutting some 1.40-1.45 60' in a 3650-3700 lb race weight f-body...

Not true on the 12-bolt. I run a 4-series spool, right now 3.73 (the only 3-series gears that are made for a 4-series set-up), but I have a set of 4.30 that I ran for a couple years in the 12-bolt. You would just have to switch over to a 4 series spool and gears.

IMO the easton posi is very good, but the more power you add on launch, the more chance you'll have to brake it. At what $450 a unit, it could get expensive. Just driving it around town I would say it will last quite a while. With your power adder I would stay 3-series, possible switching to a spool.

Kind of a difficult question I guess....well it will last until it breaks!!!! In this shit there is nothing written on stone...

what i mean by higher gear is like a 3.55 or 3.42 but they are 3series and dont make a 3 series spool for the 12bolt... the 4.10 i have with the 4series eaton posi does not need to stay... i need atleast a 3.55 for street driving to be fun...
