Max Effort Converter...
Make your mark on the poll and let me know why. I basically want a max effort converter that will match up nicely with stock heads/full bolt ons, and a 220/228 601/613 112lsa cam.
Whether it be a 3200 converter or a 4400 converter, which would pair up the best to make the car move fastest down the track. Car will be weekend pleasure car.
The cam is just a stepping stone as it will be my first cam, going to see where I can get the car with cam, converter, tires, and good suspension. If I can't make it run mid/low 11's with small cam/good suspension/tuning then I sure as hell don't need a big cam.

Max effort, you say?
Bigger converter = faster
Even with the stock cam, the absolute quickest/fastest guys run 4400+ stall speed converters.....right?
Also, a big converter won't hold you back from selecting a BIG cam in the future.
You dont' plan on using nitrous in the future....right?

i voted for around 3600-3800. since you said it will be a weekend pleasure car, it's nice to retain some driveability in a cam/stalled car. you may not find it a very pleasurable car with a 4400 stall and a cam...

No SR. just a little forged 347 with ETP heads and a T Rexish cam. Cam and converter are coming out. Converter will be 5500 ATI. Cam will be 247/247 .656 111 still HR. Going for very low 10s to high 9s next year.

That will really be flying in a 347. Considering you're all ready at mid 10's I can see you cracking the 9's with that size cam and converter. Good luck.
Thedudez,
If it was a track only NA car then I say 4400 all the way. If it was a N20 car (or will be someday) then I say go 3600-3800. For street/strip but still NA then I would highly recommend a 4000.
4000 stall is just small enough to maintain some hint of street manners but definately big enough to make you scream down the track with that cam.
Good luck.

I have the Max effort 4000 stall in my closet. My next setup will be a nitrous setup so the 4000 was as much as i could go N2o and the least i wanted to go down NA.
My last converter was a Yank PT4400 for motor only setup and got a best 60ft. of 1.47 cam only. If your staying NA and wanting a good streetable converter then a 4000-4200 would be the way to go IMO. The 4400 was super loose with any gear lower than 4.10s and was annoying to drive at times but once you got used to it wasn't all that bad to drive.
