When I had the heads off of my '93 Ford Ranger 4.0L V-6 I put a few table spoons of seafoam into each cylinder and it soaked for about 2 weeks (I was adding some from time to time as well) The cylinders were all black with flaking carbon buildup on the pistons. Ok, so when I fired the truck up the first time I didn't get any smoke. bummer
