Default Does using accessories (12v cig lighter) impact results of logs/results

Just wondering if using an accessory through the cig lighter would affect the logs/scan data a-la having AC on or something similar.

Reason I ask, is I have an AC converter for the cigarette lighter that would allow me to plug in the laptop as opposed to runnign solely off battery the whole time.
As it stands I don't have a whole lot of time on battery and flashes juice my laptop so I only get an hour or so before I have to come home and charge for hours.
I was hoping I could run on AC power while scanning and just unplug when I flash, thereby saving my power and allow me to make changes further from home.

My inclination is to think it WOULDN'T affect it just cause I assume it would be like running the radio during tuning, or aftermarket gauges but if anyone has any more intel to provide, i'd appreciate it.

Thanks,
D

I can tell you that running a LM-1 and a laptop through
inverter off the one cig outlet, is a good way to (a) melt
a Wal-Mart cig "Y" adaptor and (b) trash your serial port
when said inverter starts bouncing in and out of under-
voltage cutout.

If you have a high load you might want to run special
and stouter wiring. WBO2 heaters can suck down a lot
of juice. And look for some cig sockets that aren't made
with the thinnest-gauge unplated brass they could
scrounge up in India.

I use a Black and Decker inverter (purchased from Home Depot) for my laptop outlet, it has a built in fan to keep the heat "down". I also have a cigarette lighter adapter for my AEM Wideband. I always use the vehicle's cig lighters to power my laptop and wideband while I tune, I never unplug them until I am done tuning or the customer wants to try the tune out on his own. Most GM cars now have more than one cig lighter, so it helps. I have never experienced any deficiencies from having my laptop/wideband plugged in vs. nothing being plugged in. The differences are inconclusive.

Now if the adapter has a faulty connection, then it will skew your results in a very bad way. Always test out your connection for looseness and ensure a proper connection prior to actual logging and tuning. Good luck!

That's option #2, unfortunately option #1 is free and #2 costs about $100

Thanks tho folks, if I don't get a spare ill make do with the adapter.
Such a buzzkill having to turn around and go home for hours to recharge.

Actually my LC-1 is powered through the rear O2 power so I should be fine with just the lappy in the cig lighter.
I think the adapter i have has a fan on it too.
Score!
Too bad its gonna be 5* outside starting tomorrow through March...BOO!!
