Question Removable hardtops?

This may sound like a dumb question, but has anyone ever seen a removable hardtop for a conv. camaro? Or does anyone think its possible to fabricate? It might just be me, but personnaly i would buy one or pay for fabrication. Best of both worlds. I know it would potentially be at least 100+lbs added weight depending on materials but does anyone share my opinion or know where to go for one?

it wont be as rigid as a hard top in any means...and yea it'll add weight, but i understand what you're saying...it's probably possible...but to be honest i don't know if maybe people will be interest...definately be unique as heck though! plus the fact that i could just be completely wrong lol

would be interesting. could look really good i think. certainly would be different and eye catching that would be some serious fabrication work tho, and i doubt that somebody is goin to want to pay big bucks to have a one off made.

I know they make them for C5's and C6's...fbody might be a different story. Looks better than the regular top IMO because I absolutely despise verts.

What about a removable top for the coupe (non-T-top), something like the vettes? I get asked all the time if the top comes off mine and I say no but I would be cool.

Yeah that would be awesome. I think I saw one somewhere once that had that done. It looked pretty cool.

never seen a removable hard to for the conv.

I've always watned to do the targa project but you gotta beef the car up like mad and make sure you have some good sfcs to keep the car from warping.

That targa top looks sick, even my girls thinks its cool. Probably wouldn't work on a t-top car though, then you'd have to find a donor hard top or scratch build one
