Default 3.23s A4

Alright guys I know there are plenty of mpg threads BUT its always manual guys praising there 30 mpg highway so I wanted a thread for A4 3.23 geared f-bods to post up their mileage because I'm starting to get worried. I got roughly 15 mpg last fill-up however this is pure city and a lot of starting up and shutting down. So what do you guys get for comparison?

Btw when I drive ULTRA-conservative I get around 17....

Is the SS 3.23? I'm too lazy too look up codes...but I think it is. Last time I got 21 mpg, almost all city driving. I was pretty impressed, though I left it in OD and drove like a *****.

Road trip we get around 22 to 23. Worst tank so far has been 17.5, with alot of stop and go and some horsing around. Most of the time I drive very tame, and we get around around 19 mpg.

15 isn't to bad but the stop and go kills the mileage, so it depends how bad the stop and go is really. I'm going to fill mine up when i get it back and see just how many miles i can get out of it. but my gas gauge doesn't work but i wana know anyways.

When stock, I ususally got 18-20 mixed city/highway---highest ever was 21. These days I usually see 13 city 16 highway, most of my tanks average out to 14-15. It sad, but my camaro still gets better mileage than all my other vehicles yet makes tons more power.....tahoe gets 13-14 & truck gets 11.

I get anywhere between 17-20 mpg with a mix of mostly city and some highway. Worst I ever got was 14, and that was with a lot of sitting, city, and getting on it a lot. On nothing but highway I've gotten anywhere from 24mpg to a best of 27mpg on a trip from FL to KY.

2001 T/A vert with A4, 3.23 here: 18-20 mixed city/highway and 23-24 highway at 70 mph speed limit during a 200 mile trip this past summer. I imagine your 15 mpg would be what I would get also if I drove in block to block, stoplight city traffic.

If you're getting 15 MPG city, don't be worried. That's actually pretty normal for heavy city driving.

I average about 16 in City only traffic. Havent owned it long enough to get it up on the freeway but my 99 Z28 w/ Full Exhaust and intake would get 25 MPG during a 640 mile NC to Ohio road trip and about 17 City.

untuned with mods in sig minus the stall i got 420 miles on a tank (almost ran it dry) on the way to connecticut. since 98 tanks are 15.5 gallons thats a little over 27mpg. seems like the car hits a sweet spot at around 80-85.

with the stall, on the highway from my house to my grandmothers house (240 miles) the needle will say just over a quarter tank if there is no traffic, its pretty much a straight shot up I-95. i rarely see more than 120 miles on a tank in the city however...
