Default 2000 C5 vette or 2002 T/A

I will soon be in the position to purchase one of these cars as a daily driver. There will be no monthly note, so that's not a factor. Which one would you get? Why?

I can't stop thinking about it, lol. It's driving me crazy.

I've owned a 77 T/A, 80 Formula, 02 WS6 (briefly) and a 00 Formula. I have not owned a vette, but hear there is a night and day difference compared to a T/A.

Please help me decide, lol

C5s are nice but if i was looking for a 1/4 car id get an ls1 fbody.

C5s are nice DDs and id just lightly mod mine if i had one.

go for the c5 unless you plan to drag. the handling is so much better, and the styling is leaps and bounds ahead of an f-body (interior and exterior).

depends if you're too tall for a corvette or if you want 50 year old guys giving you the thumbs up when you're sporting a vette. It would definitly be the price/miles that would make it or break it. But i think it's shitty to turn a nice car into a DD, either or.

Would you rather have a car that based at 45 grand or 32 grand?????

The vette has...

-faster 0-60 4.8 vs 5.0
-faster 1/4 mile 13.0 at 109 vs 13.2 at 108
-better top speed 173 vs 163
-lighter weight 3270 pounds vs 3450 pounds
-better handling
-better exterior ( but the bird is better competition than the camaro)
-better interior
-better arodynamics
-better chick factor ( the vette gets em wett) the bird...well...

Fact is that the vette is faster in all ways..their will be people who swear a bird is just as fast as a C5. but in reality with the same drivers on the same day at the same track the C5 is always faster 0-60 and 1-2 tenths faster in the 1/4 mile..Cas it weighs less...It will always be faster on a roll cas it has better arodynamics..It will always be faster around a road course because it has a better suspension.

You see 90% of Fbody guys moving up to C5's or c6's as soon as they can afford it..

HOW OFTEN DO YOU READ ABOUT C5 GUYS SAYING THERE GONNA SELL AND GET AN FBODY?

you just can't beat the front end of a TRANS AM (especially with a ram air hood), don't get me wrong I love vette's I will like to own one myself someday they just look a bit dul up front sometimes and C5's with the flip light up never really look that good thank god its night when they have them up. performance wise the Vette wins by a little bit but the Trans Am is more intimidating

i'm leaning towards the vette, but a back seat would be nice. i think the coupe would be a little more versital than the FRC. I really like the idea of the removable top. i plan to do cam and bolt-ons either way. I like the road course better than the drag strip. I love the T/A, but every time i see a vette

You've already had an F-body, try something new. I know I'd love a Vette!

Which one is the 6 speed? If it's the Vette, get the Vette. If it's A4 and the TA is a 6 speed, get the TA.

Well, I'll just say this. If i could have 2 sub $20,000 cars one would be a H/C Trans Am, and the second would be a bolt-on C5 for daily driving.

I would go vette on this one. Better build quality, way better handling. But you also need to factor in miles, what tranny you want, condition of the car, etc. Oh and don't base it on rear seats please, my rear seats are useless to anyone over the age of 10, so I went ahead and took them out.
