well with the prostar being 8" and the nitto running small im pretty sure i can fit a 275/60/15 on it. and on the stock wheel i can fit a 40mm wider tire...but 25mm shorter and go with a 315/35/17. is there an andvantage to go to a prostar if im going to keep the stock front wheels? i would like a 16x10 but i cant find any

if your gonna run a 17" up front and prostar's out back then you might see a benefit from reducing rim size. but IMO there's no need to buy prostars if you can just slap some 275/40/17 m/t et street radials and dead hook with em or buy some 16" ABS wheels and put the same tire on there for interchangability(sp?). If anything you would prolly benefit more from getting some front runners with a good tire out back.
From experience i would buy some spare wheels and just swap em out for track days. used to run OEM ZO6 wheels Sun-Thurs and then Fri-Sat ran prostars up front and 16" abs wheels with et streets. good luck!

they would be an only weekend tire. but is it worth $200 extra on top of $400 for the rear tires.
if a nitto 315 will hook better on my stock rim than why get the 8" prostars. maybe a 10.

only reason i would see a benefit is the taller sidewall on a set of 15" wheels. if youve got the rearend to hold it, id personally go with a 15 x 10 with a 325/50/15 mickey DOT radial, or a 15 x 8 with a 275/60/15 on it...i dont have personal experience with those sizes, but i hear good things about those sizes. i havent seen any better times on the 275/40/17's around here. in fact, all the cars ive driven, and know around here dont seem to like the 17" radial. the guys around here seem to prefer the ET streets.
