Default valve spring color?

Hi, I just bought a set of brand new 243 heads and the springs that came with the heads are blue striped. Can anyone tell me if these are ls6 springs? And also what the lift are?

I'm thinking those are the older 01 Springs, good to 525 lift. The yellow LS6 springs are 02-04 good to 570lift

i would call whoever you bought them from and if they dont know or sound like they are even a little unsure i would buy new springs. nothing like breaking a spring and having a piston slam into a valve

If the heads are brand new, why would they have 6 year old springs? Something doesn't make sense here.

Old stock, but if they are true LS6, the benefit is the lightweight valves.

Not if they are 01's, the valves didn't get introduced until 02.

01 LS6 springs were solid blue, not blue stripped.

yeap, you're right, but what if they are 02-04 LS6 heads with either 918's or 01 springs??
Hmmm
Perhaps a couple of pics of top side and underside?
If they have orangish/redish valve base then they are LS2.

I guess that's why I am thinking something doesn't seem correct here.

Here is a picture of the valve springs in question, I am thinking early LS6 (2001). They are 2.125 uninstalled height. No other markings what so ever.

Nope... those came from an LS2 243 head. Non-sodium valves, etc...

Those came on complete NIB LS2 heads I've received before. They may be the same spec as '01 LS6 springs though. I don't know. I've got them laying around somewhere (the springs new) I guess I could check them real quick.

That's a beefy looking spring. I'm thinking 918.

Never heard of a 931. I know they make the 921 (dual), 913, and 930 springs.

I am going to have a buddy see about checking the spring rate of these springs and compare it with the early LS6 specs and 918 specs. We should be able to find an answer this way.
