Default Does anyone think this head and cam setup is a good setup?

I've never seen anyone mention this setup on this forum or other forums. I am not sure if you guys even know about it. I myself am not interested because i got bigger things planned than a head and cam package, but maybe for those of you that are planning for one, this may intrigue you. Here is the link.

call Mikey from Rapid and explain your goals. He will match something up to what you are looking for. His work and tuning is excellent, you won't be disappointed

I would do some research and price everything out seperate. It will probably save you some money and get more power. I would take a look at Texas Speed in the sponsor list. --->

I read it. I just put it out there so no one falls into the "package trap"

I'd buy a 427 SB or 408 long block for that money before I spent $6200 on a h/c package with ls6 heads. So the answer is no I dont think that is a good setup for the money.

I know it depends on what peoples goals are. I guess i should have asked this way, do you think for the power the setup makes, is worth the price? Or do you think you can get a better setup that makes more power for the same or less money?

well, it's kinda a loaded question. Sometimes cheaper isn't always better. I would stick with one of the sponsors packages and you will get good support if something isn't right. Mikey is very good, since you pointed out one of his deals, I just mentioned it. Are you looking for peak HP numbers? Broad TQ curve? Track car? numbers don't always give you want you think you want, just throwing that in there.

Let me say it this way. No that is not a good deal to me. You could get TFS heads for $2400 have a cam ground for $400 to match your needs a 90/90 ported for $1500 and your at $4300. That leaves 1900. Throw 500 at gaskets and misc and you've still got $1400 left over. If you dont need that send it to me, I can use it real bad. No $6200 is not a good deal considering what you can do for less. Like I said at $6200 your in 408 territory and blow that h/c package away with torque up the wazoo and hp to match.
