Default Help me dress up my stock wheels

What would you do to these wheels if they were yours? I would like to get rid of the ugly ABS lettering and maybe get chrome center caps. Will the ZR1 center caps from SLP work on these wheels? I was also thinking of getting some chrome acorn style lugs.

Static balance the wheels to get rid of the ugly weights on the outside.

Chrome Lugnuts would be nice.

I beleive the center caps are interchangable, but don't quote me.

A nice decal could be an option.

Those crappy tires have since been replaced with new wideovals, but they used weights on the outside again. I will see what other options I have when I get them balanced. I like some of the decals I have seen so that is definitely an option. Thanks...

had the same wheels stock on my 01 Formula... I saved until I got my TT2s! Nothing much you can do to improve on the stock chrome ones. I liked the black lug nut covers and center cap, they provided a good contast. Dont remove the outside weights, chances are, they have scratched the chrome underneath, so just leave them to hide it. I recommend just saving up and getting some rims that you like. 17's look better on these cars anyway!

No, the wheels are not scratched anywhere. They are in great shape and I like the look of them. I'm just on the fence about the chrome lugs and don't know if the ZR1 center caps will fit. If I can find the correct center caps in chrome, I would be happy. Thanks...

Fourth Circle Designs might be the ticket if I can't find Plain Chrome center Caps. Thanks...

I was going to say save for some others, but apparently you're going to keep them regardless. Might be a good idea though, tires will be cheaper for those 16's.

I like the wheels, I just don't like the ABS letterings. I just installed some nice firestone's so I will have the wheels for a while. Besides, for my money spent I wanA go fast... SHAKE AND BAKE!!!

I put chrome lug nuts on mine and they look a lot better, After thoughts auto sells the set for $30.85. Also Brent Franker can make you anything you want to over the ugly ABS sticker. he made one for me.

I bought my Tail light filler panel overlays from Brent Franker and they are of great quality. I have seen his center cap overlays, and that might end up being the route I go if I cannot find Plain chrome center caps. If anyone has a picture of their chrome lugs installed on a similar wheel I would like to see them. Thanks...

I say chrome lug nuts and a firebird center cap. That would set off the wheel nicely.

The Chrome lug nut covers from Afterthoughts will work, but I don't need the lug nuts that come with the set. The price is too high when I can buy the Gorilla's with locks for 23.00 and if one pops off while going down the road, I would probably have to buy a whole new set. Ouch...

Will a Firebird center cap work? All the Firebird wheels I have seen have the same ABS sticker on the center cap that I have on mine...

What exactly is "Static Balancing?" I've always used tire installers who put the weights on the inside of my wheels. Is "Static Balancing" something different?

FWIW, go with the chrome lugs. And, I don't know if this is possible because I've never seen these wheels in person but, I would try using a heat gun to remove the ABS decal from the center caps. If it works, you could possibly polish up those caps or get them plated. If not, you can always go with the overlay decals or new plain caps.

I think for the lugs I'm going to go with The chrome Gorilla acorns with locks. I believe I need the 12x150. I'm also going to go with overlays for the center caps since that route will be a little cheaper. Now, I think when it comes to the center cap overlays that I like a black background with the Firebird logo for the contrast since the lugs will already be chrome. What color do you guys like for the firebird logo? The car is Red and all my other decals are already red including the Door panels letters which are hard to see since the car itself is red. I might change the decals to a different color so if I do that I might as well make these match. What color??? Looking for a nice classy look.
