Default Bigger in the rear?

I want to put on 17x11's instead of 16x9.5 and I was wondering if anyone has ever had any negative effects after putting on larger rear tires (Over-steer under-steer etc.)...

I think it depends on how big your front tires are. if youre runny slicks and skinnies for example, youre gonna understeer like crazy (not that you would do any kind of hard cornering with that setup anyway). Dont go to nuts with the kind of tire you put on back. drag radials for example would be bad for handling. those will just grip the road and push you straight instead of turning. ive got 275s up front and 295s in the rear. handles awesome

The only downside I've ever had is that you can't rotate the tires. Well, not front to rear anyway.

if i had to take a guess, i'd say with the wider tires you are less likely to oversteer unless you got a decent amount of power...

315 in back on 17x11.5 , 275s in rear on 17x10.5s. only problem is the GSD3s dont fit fully under the fender, so watch out for the larger brand 315s if you have a camaro. (TAs have more clearance)

Downsides could include not being able rotate the tires, wider tires are more expensive, & you might have to do some "clearancing" to make them fit.

I love my 275's up front and 315's in the rear. The car handles better now.

You said you have 16 X 9.5 wheels. Is that a typo?
