Default Here's my SCR/DCR,best way to lower it???

dcr looks very high according to the calc i'm using
this are the VE's of that cam
----------------------------------- 0.006 -- 0.050 -- 0.200
Intake Duration - ID --------------- 267 ---- 214 ---- 133
Exhaust Duration - ED ------------- 275 ---- 222 ---- 140
Lobe Center Angle - LCA ----------- 115 ---- 115 ---- 115
Intake Centerline - ICL ------------- 111 ---- 111 ---- 111

Intake Valve opens - IVO --------- 22.5 ---- -4 ---- -44.5
Intake Valve closes - IVC --------- 64.5 ---- 38 ---- -2.5
Exhaust Valve Opens - EVO --------- 76.5 ---- 50 ---- 9
Exhaust Valve Closes - EVC --------- 18.5 ---- -8 ---- -49
Exhaust Centerline - ECL ------------ 119 ---- 119 ---- 119
Overlap ---------------------------- 41 ---- -12 ---- -93.5

Bore ---- 3.9
ST = Stroke ---- 3.622
RL = Rod Length ---- 6.098
Number of cylinders ---- 8
Deck Height (how much pistons come out of the hole) ---- -0.006
Piston Dome or Dish (- for a dome + for a dish) ---- 0
Compressed Head gasket thickness ---- 0.04 -- (cometic .040)
Cylinder Head Chamber Volume ---- 62 -- (62cc milled)

Static Compression Ratio ---- 11.33 :1
Dynamic Compresion Ratio ---- 9.02 :1
Rod to Stroke Ratio 1.68 :1
Bore to Stroke Ratio 1.08 :1

Look how high my DCR is?
What would be the best way to lower it w/o hurting performance?
93 octane is what I'm running...

Maybe retard the cam one or two degrees.

You can retard the cam when you install it.

EDIT- You calculated at 111 ICL, calculate it at 115ICL, dot to dot. Why do you have it advanced if you are complaining about high compression, just go back to dot to dot that is of course unless the advance is ground into the cam already. In that case retard it.

Wait... are you trying to say it's easier to swap heads than it is to degree the cam??? You don't even have to remove the cam to degree it. Get an adjustable timing set, install it at the 4 degrees retarded setting, check the numbers and you're done.

I think what he is saying that he hasn't milled his heads yet, but was planning to. But after doing the DCR calculation, he realized that would be a mistake.

Correct,cam is in but heads are not even on the car yet...I COULD retard the cam but I just wanna pull the heads and be done with it,thats why I'll leave them at 64CC...
