Default Tech Input Needed: Just Curious on Convertor Choice for T400?

what stall would you choose for a few trips to the track that can handle 800 horses with nitrous. Must be streetable as well.

Just curious... I am not that knowledgeable at stall selection.

Maybe in a year or so I will pull the 6 speed out of my car.

Don't give him advice...you can give him the correct answer and he will argue with you. He's allready made up his mind through all the "research" he's done anyways.

let Robert tell you what stall to get.

what experience do you personally have running a big stall on the street in an old school trans?

Me, Ive had a 5200, a 4600 and 4000 and a 3800. I never had one over heating issue with any of them. I started spraying more and more. Believe it or not, I actually TOWED a car home with my T400 and a 4600 converter over 400 miles home!!!

With that said, TCI ive yet to get a converter that was right on the money the first time. Art carr, thats a joke right there. I dont need to comment on them.

PTC, he was the last stall that I had in my car. It was right on the money with stall speed and it WORKED. For a cheaper alternative, thats who id use again.

Neal Chance will be the unit i go with next. WE made a call to him for a buddies Boosted 347 Ford. He sent the converter, and it was right on the money and its taken every bit of abuse that we've thrown at it. We have yet to go to the track with it but the car is the baddest its ever been. It will be on the streets over H-town NEXT weekend looking for the money.

Why not? I went with a Yank pt4000 for my TH400. Best $850 I've ever spent on my car. Yank is pricey, but well worth the extra $$$ IMO. You get what you pay for.

If your talking that much horsepower you might want to go with a Neil Chance converter. A buddy of mine just built a 1000 hp BBC motor and he went with a Neil Chance and he says its the best conveter he's ever had.
