Default Knock Sensor adjustment

Car in sig, has updated knock sensors. I have a fair amount of valvetrain noise and I was getting small amounts of knock (<1) in the lower rpm range and then a few degrees of knock when I shifted between 1800 and 3500 at part throttle. The car is an M6. Pretty sure its false, so I increased the global gain values by 1 and the small knock went away, but the shift knock stayed. I played around with it more and with the global gain table increased by 1, the decay rate doubled, and the attack rate halved, the knock went away. Have I taken too much out of the sensors for safety's sake? Any better way to go about it?

just curious, are you getting any hesitation at low rpms since the check engine light came on for the knock sensor ?
