Default Video of tick, Pushrod?

What do you guys think it is? The car loses power rapidly at 5500. The car was
racing and after it was shut down, and then restarted it made this noise. Hasnt gotten any worse, but its been put up for a few months. I read about the comon pushrod issue, and the possibility of a rocker coming apart. The car is a 99.

Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

I had similar sound, tho not as loud. Was a loose sparkplug. Easy thing to check, with the motor running, hold your hand on each spark plug wire, if you can feel the wire ticking, that's a loose plug. Worth a shot anyhow.

Also check the gaskets on the air tube that go to each exhaust manifold or header.

Thats prety loud ,probably internal and not a plug. A plug is real loud from the side, your is loud up top. Pull the valve covers and check everything out.I'd check the plugs 1st though, before you take everything apart. Videos can be deceiving sometimes.

Well in person, it sounds like its loudest above the intake, close to the back. But sometimes it sounds loudes in the front right above the passenger valve cover. I think its internal.

I would definately pull the valve covers to check the rockers and push rods.

Just check the plugs and AIR tube gaskets first, before pulling the valve covers. Those only take like 5 min, so it would be nice if that was the problem.

^^ not really, too consistant of a tick, is it louder under a load? I would def check the plugs 1st after listening to it again, reminds me of when i had a loose plug. Again, it is hard to tell from a vid.

ive heard alot of rod knocks recently, and that it does not sound like, its top end related, and I really doubt exhaust leak, ill be checking for leaking plugs, and gaskets tomorrow hopefully, and maybe pull some plugs, and see if I cant find 1-2 that are different from the rest, showing a non moving valve.

Check to make sure that a header bolt didn't back out, it happened to me over the summer and broke part of the gasket. It sounded exactly like that and got louder under throttle.

I don't think I would be starting it until I found out what is causing that. I had a slight ticking, above 2K rpm, last fall. When the motor goes back in everything valve train related will be different except the rockers. If I still does it, I guess I will go to a set of Yella Terra's.
